Fighting for your conservative values in the Utah House
Fighting for my home.
Dear Friends, Neighbors, and Constituents of House District 17,
My name is Sam Barlow, and I am running as a Republican to represent you in the Utah House because this district is my home and the community that helped shape who I am. I am a lifelong Davis County resident. I grew up in Layton and Fruit Heights, graduated from Layton High School, and bought my first home in Farmington. Today, my wife and I are raising our three young children right here. I know this district, I love this district, and I am running to serve it.
Public service runs deep in my family. My father and grandfather both served this community with honor, and I respect that legacy. But I am focused on earning the trust of District 17 through my own work and service. My path has been shaped by real-world experience, working in housing, property rights, and public policy at the ground level. That experience matters, because Utah’s challenges today are practical ones that demand practical solutions.
I believe in responsible but limited government, free markets, personal freedom, education, and strong families. Today, housing affordability, rising property taxes, and regulatory pressure are putting real strain on families like mine and many others across our community. I am running because District 17 is my home, and I want my children and future generations to be able to afford to live, work, and raise their families here.
Sincerely yours,
Housing Affordability
If you work here, raise a family here, and grew up here, you should be able to afford to live here. Unfortunately, today, families are being priced out of their own communities.
Education
Education should prepare our kids for real careers and real life—without wasting tax dollars.
Preserving Utah's Way
of Life
Preserve Utah’s way of life through smart growth—planning infrastructure and water wisely so families can afford to live, work, and enjoy the outdoors.
